Indivisible Actions
Join a nationwide day of action to oppose the Trump administration's expansion of ICE warehouse incarceration and the attack on American due process rights.
This day of action is to:
- Show visible, public opposition to ICE detention expansion and the criminalization of immigration
- Stand in solidarity with detained immigrants and the communities fighting to protect them
- Demand that our elected officials defend due process for everyone

Williamsport, MD near Hagerstown in Washington County Indivisible has a large warehouse facility that has been purchased by ICE. This is a town of approximately 2,000 with an detention center proposed to hold 1,500 people.
Washington County Indivisible has been doing an excellent job pushing back on this development against a very trumpy County Council. (The Council has even invited Trump & Vance for a personal tour!)
Maryland's Attorney General, Anthony Brown, has filed a case to halt the transformation of this warehouse into a detention facility based on environmental damage to the state and community, and there is now an injunction against further renovation on the site.
That is great news but this isn't over!
What's next? Join Washington County Indivibile at the April 28th Commissioners meeting!
May 1st is International Workers Day so a perfect time to show our collective power. May 1st is a day of no school, shopping, or work. We are the workers and we outnumber the ruling class.
Across the Country We are Standing Up and demanding:
That we tax the rich so our families, not their fortunes, come first.
No ICE. No war. No private army serving authoritarian power.
Expand democracy. Hands off our vote.
Oligarchs and the Epstein Class have too much control over our political system - we have to take that control back.
Join us downtown at noon at the Washington Monument for a march and rally !
What We Are Doing
Strategies for Building Effective Actions
We're forming teams around the Pillars of Democracy to better organize and strategize. Teams will be collaborative across the DMV and nationwide.
We encourage anyone and everyone to participate to share ideas and feedback and then take the plans back to your group or community.
Electoral Committee
Please See 'Elections' Page for ways to effect the 2026 elections.
This Committee will have a team on Electoral Interference and helping people match actions with their interests.
Rallies & Sign Waving
This team helps keep track of protests, sign wavings and other civil resistance events. We help build partnerships with individiuals and groups across the region.
Flyering to Tourists
Work on messaging to the 21 million tourists who visit DC every year to reach out to people across the nation who may not be aware of what is happening in our city. Messaging will include national legislation and the fact that DC has no voice in the US Congress.
Rapid Response
We work with Moco IRC to support ward patrols in NW DC, support Middleton Indivisible to push back on the warehouse detention prison in Hagerstown, and connect to other supportive actions of mutual aid for our neighbors.
Indivisible Actions
We work to promote coordinated action with Indivisible, broadening the reach of their big-tent messaging and following their play-book for a pro-democracy movement.
Youth Engagement
Reach out to youth groups to offer logistical support. Identify other influencers in this space. Research youth-led candidates to lend support to help make this a more representative and dynamic movement.
